Freedom

Freedom is what I want
To speak my mind
To express myself
Without fear
Without bread crumbs or trails
That you can find
Leading you to the deep
Dark core of my mind
That you aren’t meant to see

No really
To express myself
To be free in voice
In heart and soul
To say what I feel
And not be judged by my feelings
That may betray what we have

My feelings don’t always match
How I live
But I live anyway
Embracing the day
Knowing that like time
These feelings too
Will pass

I know the nature of the beast

Secret Passage

Settling in for the night
Bed turned down so I sleep tight
Close my eyes fast asleep
I sink into a slumber deep
Creep to my dream you appear
Secret Passage opens near
Should I explore this route in view
Dark corridors that lead straight to you?
Should I depart my bed so warm
To follow this trail, hearts quiet storm
Cobwebbed flashlight now in hand
I linger in limbo no action plan
New morn dawns as I awake
My hopeful heart, considers, awaits
What vision would call me to you
My dreams connect, continually view
Your soul, spirit, your memory
You are a constant reverie
In my dreams, my room appear
Secret passage out of nowhere
